Comfortable Nightwear

Image
Keeping the family clothes closet neat and clean is one of the things I manage to monitor in my home management.  I often tell my househelp to sort the wearing apparels properly before keeping them in the closets after each laundry schedule.  Classify them according to its usage. Fold and combine clothes of the same colors, separate the house clothes, pyjamas and nightwear from the school uniforms, office clothes, jackets and outdoor garments. I taught my children of wearing the proper attire fitted for every occasion, thus they are accustomed to changing their clothes into house clothing upon coming home from school, office or from an outdoor activity. They also have the habit of wearing their pajamas at night for a much comfortable slumber.  I bought my husband and kids three sets of sleeping apparels each, while I only have two sets which lately I noticed needs replacement.  Due to my busy schedules, I opted to buy them online as Deals Direct is one of my favorite browsing sit

Learn how to say No!

I keep on telling my children that is not hard to say No. Do not ever think that you are being rude and bad when you reject.  Do not get worried of hurting other person’s feelings because you think you are being inconsiderate. A straight forward answer in a friendly tone or manner will refrain them from getting offended. Well, in my point of view, we just cannot always say yes and accept all invitations offered or tasks given to us for we do not have to please people all the time.   We also have to think of our calendar, time and priorities. We all have busy schedules and plans on a daily basis.  If you are free and it will not conflict your time plan, or you can do it on time then go ahead say Yes. Never be afraid to deny a favor asked of you, if you think you cannot do it. Immediately decline an invitation if you are uncomfortable or just not in the mood to attend. Set aside the fear of losing your friends and opportunities.  If you are being invited do not forget to say thank yo

Cleaning 101: The Windows

Image
It is recommended to best work on windows on a cloudy day in early mornings or late afternoon as direct sun makes window cleaner dry too quickly leaving streaks behind. Just pull back the blinds or curtains, open the windows and inspect its sill, frames, and tracks for dirt and cobwebs. Sweep out debris using a big paint brush or a small sweeper Run a vacuum over the screens so you don’t need to take them down. Using a sprayer, spray glass cleaner or a solution of your favorite cleaning agent until it is heavily misted but not drippy.   Wipe with a lint-free cloth until dry.   I use old cotton shirts to wipe it dry as it best absorbs dirt. Windows of different types need different styles of cleaning.   For jalousie windows, clean each frame with the use of a damp micro fiber cloth washed every now and then from a basin with a cleaning solution.   For big window frames, spray it with glass cleaner then use a squeegee to dry. Simple procedures, with quick and easy methods. By the

Little feet of our kids are tirelessly traipsing to discover their world.  As they clamber around, most certainly they come up with a few cuts and abrasion.  We need to care for these scrapes and scabs to avoid infection. photo taken from the web  For minor cuts and abrasions with little to no bleeding; Wash down the wound under running water to irrigate out dirt and debris. Thoroughly wash the wound with mild soap or better to use an anti-bacterial soap then rinse thoroughly. Apply antiseptic like Povidone Iodine (Betadine) and cover the wound with sterile gauze or bandage to prevent them from poking it. Examine the wound daily, keeping an eye out for redness, swelling or pus which is an indication of infection. Change the dressing as needed.  Leave the bandages off once a scab forms For large cuts and abrasions, with continuous bleeding Wash down the wound under running water to irrigate out as much dirt and debris as you can  Have your child sit or lie and raise t
