The Benefits of a Massage Chair for Your Home

Perhaps you have enjoyed unwinding in a soothing massage chair while having a pedicure, in an upscale hotel room or even after a long day of shopping at your local mall. You may not have considered purchasing one for your home, though. Many massage chairs are available to the public and are increasingly popular with consumers just like you. Learn about the advantages of these relaxing, attractive furnishings; you might just be tempted to get one yourself.

For people who suffer from chronic or recurring pain, massage chairs can mean the difference between enduring aches or discomfort and finding some much-needed relief. A quality chair can relax tight muscles, increase blood flow to injured or damaged areas and even encourage your body to release more endorphins, which are a natural substance that attach to cell receptors in your brain much the way morphine does, eliminating pain in the process.

As mentioned, massage chairs help improve blood flow. Increasing your circulation helps your body heal more quickly, improves the appearance and texture of your skin and can even improve your blood pressure. For people with specific diseases or disorders, such as diabetes or HIV, this can even help prevent peripheral neuropathy and other conditions.

If you have ever experienced a professional massage, you know that it is an incredible way to lessen stress, diminish anxiety and simply relax. Quality massage chairs found in Relaxation Station produce the same effect. You can choose between a chair that offers Shiatsu-style massage, which is used to amend any energy imbalances your body might be experiencing using rolling, brushing and vibration techniques, or Swedish massage, which kneads, taps and rubs in specific strokes against your major muscles. Determining which method is more relaxing is a personal choice, but both offer mental and emotional health benefits.

Another advantage is that the increase in circulation and decrease in pain and stress have additional effects. As your blood flow improves and your pain and tension decrease, you will feel more energetic and less fatigued. With regular use, you are likely to sleep sounder and more deeply as well, which will result in higher energy during your waking hours.

Admittedly, massage chairs for the home do require an initial investment. However, when you consider that professional massages can cost hundreds of dollars and improving your overall health can prevent doctor visits, loss of work and sheer quality of life, it may seem like an investment worth making.

  1. Whenever we go to the nearest mall, hubby and I would spend 5 minutes on the massage chairs they have available for  busy bees going by one of the apothecary...you just slip in 2euro in the slot and it goes on for 15 minutes....heaven! I don't have the money to buy one yet so I think we just go there once in  a while :D

  6. I first tried a massage chair while waiting for the kids at Tom's World, I think.  Even though it only took minutes, I appreciated that break, that peaceful soothing sensation.  Unfortunately, we found that same chair in an appliance store and just couldn't imagine how we can afford one.  I guess for now we'd go for dropping tokens for minutes but I'd really love it if we had one at home too (I know it's such a BIG splurge though).

  9. The massage mechanisms can quickly wear through some materials and will also work through genuine leather. For this reason, it is usually beneficial to choose a strengthened synthetic material designed specifically for the task.
