The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in every home as its main function is cooking and preparing food for the family.  It is also used for dining, food storage and entertaining. No matter how big or small the kitchen is, careful planning is essential before updating this space. Determining the style that would best fit for your family’s lifestyle should be considered, a look that will last the course of its time. Considering a classic modern kitchen design is mostly advised by kitchen designers.



There are many options to choose from when creating a dream kitchen. A typical residential kitchen is equipped with cabinets, stove, refrigerator, kitchen countertops, a sink, a dishwasher and other electric appliances arranged according to its functional partitioning and modular design. In my opinion, the kitchen countertops play an important role when giving your kitchen a face lift as it would not only create a clean and neat look but will also add beauty in the over-all look of the kitchen.


There are factors to consider when choosing the right countertops. Choose a durable countertop that can endure a lot of use. Its visual appeal should strike a balance between the other kitchen essentials such as the cabinets and appliances. Easy maintenance as well must be regarded for you wouldn’t like it when you spend a lot of time just cleaning the countertops isn’t it?

Different styles and designs of kitchen countertops are available according to your preference. As for my personal choice, I would prefer the natural stone like granite or marble. Stone countertops are long lasting as they are more heat tolerant than other surfaces.  It may be a bit expensive yet its organic beauty is really an eye catcher that worth its cost. It gives a kitchen a definition of elegance as it endows beauty even to the simplest kitchens.

Maintenance of a natural stone countertop is also easy as it only requires proper sealing to prevent absorbing stains. Through proper sealing it will last a lifetime. Moreover, it will also add value to your home.

Mother, Blogger

As I already mentioned in my first article, I am a full-time housewife, tending to the daily house chores. Though I have my helper with me, I personally tend to my husband and children's needs.
