Avoiding Bad Guitar Playing Habits – Nip Them in the Bud Early On

The earlier bad guitar playing habits are nipped in the bud the better for beginner guitarists – it’s all too easy for mistakes to become ingrained in one’s playing techniques which makes them extremely difficult to break out of later on. Some bad guitar playing habits are caused by laziness, for instance failing to tune the guitar before playing, whilst others are the result of simply not knowing that one is going about things the wrong way, like incorrectly positioning one’s left hand thumb on the back of the guitar neck. It’s advantageous to understand that playing the guitar is a physical activity, and like any physical activity, you need to get the fundamentals down pat before you move onto something more complex. Adopting the wrong attitude to practice This is the number one bad habit of beginner guitarists, particularly those raised on ‘Guitar Hero’ for some reason – too much rocking out before learning the fundamentals perhaps? When Novelty Gifts are at their Best

Image
Finding the right gift for a friend or co-worker – or even a family member, for that matter – can be a lot more difficult than it ought to be. Ideally, you want the gift to be something that the person is going be able to use, or at least appreciate. However, this can put a lot of pressure on the giver. image via pixabay.com There is plenty of published data out there lending credence to the difficulty of selecting the right gifts. In the lead-up to Christmas a couple of years ago, The Telegraph published an article about the worst gifts that men buy for the women in their lives. These were a few of the stand-out items: ·         Cabbage ·         Salt ·         Sack of potatoes ·         Beard trimmers ·         Windscreen wipers There’s a definite lack of creativity at work in the above list. Apparently, the men in this survey were satisfied to buy women things that they wouldn’t mind receiving themselves. Either that or they were just hungry when they

Most Common Driving Offences to Avoid

Image
There are many hundreds of driving offences on the statute books, but only a relative few are regularly broken by drivers to the extent that courts must deal with them time and time again. Worst of all, these commonoffences tend to be at the higher end of the punishment scale, attracting stiffer penalties and fines. If you find yourself regularly stopped by police for these offences, it might be time to seek professional legal advice from a firm like GC Traffic Lawyers  or perhaps even consider taking a driver refresher course. Of course, the best way to avoid trouble with the police is to not commit offences in the first place. Here are a few of the most common, and serious, driving offences to avoid if you want to hold on to your licence. Mosquitoes here, there and everywhere

Image
After my youngest son, Yahmir, has been hospitalized due to dengue fever caused by a mosquito bite years ago, I am always on guard against mosquitoes. Dengue and Chikungunya are now an all-year-round mosquito-bite diseases in the country which should not be taken for granted as it comes in different strains that can be fatal. image via en.wikipedia.org To refrain from being the dinner of these blood suckers, as much as possible we mosquito proof our home.   We always check for any stagnant water in and out of the house especially after a rain fall.   Any pool of water like in the saucer of a plant pot or rain water caught inside an old tire, fresh flower vases and even in the base of an air conditioning unit is a good place for them to breed and hang out. In fact, wherever they can find enough water   to lay their eggs, they will be there. There are many ways to keep safe from mosquitoes.  Through researching I have found out that there are plants that repel mosquito.  Unk
