A Devotee

My Mom being a woman of strong faith, is the one who first taught me the importance of putting God in our lives.  She taught me how to pray the Holy Rosary when I was still very young.  From then on, I developed this strong devotion and faithfulness in praying.  By the time I became a mother, I also passed this on to my children.

I was able to face life’s struggles and hardships with the aid of praying.  Knowing trials are given to us not to put us down but to mold us to become a better person, firm and stable in handling the gift of life.  Believing someone up above is watching over me and would not forsake me just as long as I keep on tracking the right path.

I am very thankful and happy to receive a Holy Rosary present from my cousin when she had her pilgrimage to Rome.  It has been years but until now I can still smell the sweet scent from its beads.  The rosary was made up of wood with a scent of a rose.  I’ve been always using it when we say the rosary at home.

When I get out of the house, I have this another small rosary always inside my bag.

Six years ago, my husband was hospitalized, due to bilateral kidney cysts and sudden prostate enlargement. I am too worried and scared.  I keep on praying for his immediate recovery. St. Peregrine was introduced to me by my best friend’s mother, who is on vacation here in the Philippines. It was very timely, I immediately pray the St. Peregrine’s Novena after saying the rosary.  Prayers are indeed so powerful.  My  petition through St. Peregrine’s intercession has been answered in no time.

It does not matter what your religion is, for we are all believing in one God.  Acceptance and devotion in the Higher Being is what matter most.  Let us not forget to always give thanks and praise for all the blessings we are receiving each day.

  2. I admire yours and your Mom's devotion. My mom is also a worker for the Church. When I was younger, I used to belong to the parish choir. Now, I feel a little guilty for not being able to spend more time with Him and Mama Mary. I cannot even find time to pray the Rosary like I used to. Thanks for reminding me about the power of novenas and the Holy Rosary.

  3. wow that's why you are always bless mommy joy, I didn't know that you had a hardship when it comes to family's health. Unfortunately many of us just remember God when hardship strikes and i was one of them, hopefully that my faith will keep stronger too.

  4. Your rosary reminds me of the wooden cross keychain that my boss gave to me when they went to the Holy Land as they are a devoted catholic too.

I strongly agree! Our religon doesn't really matter and none of us have the right who's right and wrong in a way we worship GOD, Only HIM could tell us that, in due time.
